SGHere works entirely in your browser — no app store download, no sign-up, no login. Just open sghere.com on your phone or desktop and you're ready to go.

When you first open the app, you'll be asked to allow location access. This is optional — you can deny it and still search for stops manually by code or name. But if you allow it, the app can show you what's nearby: bus stops, MRT stations, parking, and more.

Your location data never leaves your device. It's used only to calculate distances and display nearby markers on the map.

At the top of the Home screen, you'll see a search bar. Tap it and type any of the following:

• Stop code — e.g. 96299
• Bus route number — e.g. 185 to see all stops on that route
• Road name — e.g. Orchard
• Postal code — e.g. 560123

Results appear instantly as you type, showing matching bus stops with their stop codes and road names. Tap any result to view live arrival times for that stop.

When you open a bus stop (via search or the Nearby map), you'll see a card listing every bus service at that stop. Each service row shows:

• Bus number and destination
• ETA in minutes — how long until the next bus arrives (and the one after that)
• Occupancy dot — a colored indicator showing how full the bus is:
  • Green = Seats Available
  • Yellow = Standing Room
  • Red = Crowded

Data refreshes automatically every 30 seconds. You'll see a "last updated" timestamp at the bottom of each card so you know the data is fresh. If a stop hasn't refreshed (e.g., poor network), you'll see a "may be stale" warning.

Found a stop you use regularly? Tap the ★ star icon on the stop card to save it to your favourites.

Saved stops appear on the Home screen and load arrivals automatically when you open the app — no searching needed. Here's what you can do with favourites:

• Rename — Give stops custom nicknames like "Home" or "Office MRT" so you recognise them at a glance. Tap the pencil icon next to the stop name.
• Reorder — Drag stops up or down to put your most-used ones at the top.
• Remove — Tap the ★ again to un-favourite a stop.

Favourites are saved in your browser's local storage, so they persist between sessions — no account needed. You can also favourite parking lots and EV chargers the same way.

Don't want to stare at the screen waiting? Tap the 🔔 bell icon next to any bus service to set an arrival alert. You'll get notified when that bus is approximately 2 minutes away from the stop.

There are two alert modes:

You can have up to 5 active alerts at a time. Alerts automatically dismiss once the bus arrives or passes.

Switch to the Nearby tab in the bottom navigation to open the map view. This shows a dark-themed map centred on your current location, with markers for everything around you.

At the top of the map, you'll see layer chips you can toggle on and off:

• Bus — Nearby bus stops (tap to see arrivals)
• MRT — Train stations
• Parking — Car parks with live availability
• EV — Electric vehicle chargers
• Hawker — Hawker centres and food courts

Tap any marker to see a card with details — for bus stops it shows live arrivals, for parking it shows available lots, and so on. You can also pan and zoom the map to explore other areas, then tap "Search this area" to load markers for the new location.

Switch to the MRT tab to see the status of all 6 MRT/LRT lines at a glance:

• Green = Normal service
• Red = Disruption or delay

If there's a disruption, you'll see a brief description of what's happening (e.g., "Train service between Bishan and Ang Mo Kio is delayed due to a signal fault").

Tap any line to expand it and see real-time crowd levels at each station along that line. Crowd levels are shown as Low, Moderate, or Crowded — useful if you want to avoid packed stations during rush hour.

On the Home screen, a small MRT status banner appears too, so you can spot disruptions without switching tabs.

On the Nearby map, enable the Parking layer using the chip at the top. Markers appear for HDB, URA, and private car parks in the visible area.

Each parking marker shows the number of available lots in real time. Tap a marker to open its detail card, which shows:

• Current available lots (car, motorcycle, heavy vehicle)
• Parking rates and daily cap information
• A "Navigate here" button that opens directions in your default maps app

You can also ★ favourite a car park to see its availability on your Home screen without opening the map every time.

Enable the EV layer on the Nearby map to see electric vehicle charging stations around you. Each marker shows whether chargers are available or in use.

Tap a charger marker to see its detail card with:

• Charger type (AC / DC) and connector standard
• Power output in kW
• How many chargers are free vs. occupied
• A "Navigate here" button for directions

Like parking, you can favourite EV chargers to keep them on your Home screen for quick availability checks.

SGHere works best when added to your home screen. It opens full-screen like a native app — no browser bar, faster loading, and push notifications support.

Tap the Settings icon (bottom nav or gear icon) to access app preferences:

• Language — Switch between 中文 (Chinese) and English. Note: stop names and route numbers are always in English (that's how LTA provides them); switching language only changes the interface text.
• Theme — Toggle between Dark mode and Light mode.
• Clear cache — Removes cached data like stop databases and arrival history. Your favourites and settings are not affected — only cached transit data is cleared and will reload fresh.
