Terms of Service

Last updated: 15 January 2025

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using SGHere (the "Service"), available at sghere.com, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you should not use the Service.

These terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access or use SGHere, whether through a web browser, the installed Progressive Web App (PWA), or any other means of access.

2. Service Description

SGHere is a free, web-based transit information application for Singapore. It displays real-time data sourced from government APIs and open datasets, including but not limited to:

  • Bus arrival times and occupancy levels
  • MRT/LRT line status and station crowd density
  • Car park availability
  • Electric vehicle charger status
  • Hawker centre information
  • Weather forecasts

The Service is provided free of charge. No account registration is required. SGHere may display advertisements through Google AdSense to support the ongoing operation and development of the Service.

3. Data Accuracy

All transit, parking, and infrastructure data displayed by SGHere originates from third-party sources, primarily the Land Transport Authority (LTA) DataMall and data.gov.sg. SGHere retrieves, caches, and displays this data as received from these sources.

We make no guarantee regarding the accuracy, completeness, timeliness, or reliability of any data displayed. Real-time data may be delayed, incorrect, or unavailable due to factors beyond our control, including but not limited to:

  • API downtime or rate limiting by the data provider
  • GPS inaccuracies in vehicle tracking
  • Delays between actual events and API updates
  • Network connectivity issues on your device
  • Caching delays within the application

Do not rely solely on SGHere for critical transportation decisions. Always allow extra time and have alternative plans, especially for time-sensitive journeys like airport trips or important appointments.

4. No Warranty

The Service is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

SGHere does not warrant that:

  • The Service will be uninterrupted or error-free
  • Data displayed will be accurate or up-to-date
  • The Service will be available at all times
  • Defects or errors will be corrected in a timely manner
  • The Service will be free from viruses or other harmful components

The Service may experience downtime for maintenance, updates, or due to factors beyond our reasonable control.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree to use SGHere only for its intended purpose — checking transit and infrastructure information for personal, non-commercial use. You may not:

  • Scrape, crawl, or systematically extract data from the Service for redistribution or commercial purposes
  • Attempt to overwhelm, disrupt, or interfere with the Service's infrastructure
  • Use automated tools to make excessive API requests through the Service
  • Reverse-engineer the Service to access underlying data source APIs directly using credentials that belong to SGHere
  • Redistribute or resell transit data obtained through the Service
  • Use the Service to build a competing product

Normal personal use — including frequent checking of arrivals, using favourites, and setting alerts — is completely fine and encouraged. These restrictions target only abusive or commercial exploitation.

6. Intellectual Property

The SGHere application — including its user interface design, visual theme, source code, icons, and textual content — is the intellectual property of SGHere and is protected by applicable copyright and intellectual property laws.

Transit data (bus arrivals, MRT status, parking availability, etc.) belongs to the respective government agencies that produce it (primarily LTA and NEA). SGHere's right to display this data is governed by the terms of the respective open data platforms and API agreements.

Map tiles are provided by OneMap Singapore and are the intellectual property of the Singapore Land Authority (SLA).

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, SGHere and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from or related to your use of the Service. This includes, without limitation:

  • Missed buses or trains due to incorrect arrival times
  • Travel delays caused by reliance on the Service's data
  • Inability to find parking despite indicated availability
  • Any damages arising from service interruptions or data inaccuracies
  • Loss of saved data (favourites, settings) due to browser storage clearing

SGHere is a convenience tool that displays third-party data. You use it at your own risk and should always exercise independent judgment regarding your transportation decisions.

8. Third-Party Links and Services

SGHere may contain links to third-party websites or services, including but not limited to:

  • Google Maps / Apple Maps (for navigation directions)
  • LTA DataMall documentation
  • Google AdSense advertisements

These external services are not operated or controlled by SGHere. We are not responsible for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites or services. Your use of third-party services is governed by their respective terms.

9. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify or replace these Terms of Service at any time. When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.

Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms. If you disagree with the updated terms, you should discontinue use of the Service.

10. Governing Law

These Terms of Service shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Singapore, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from or relating to these terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Singapore.
